The Traveler's Channel on WebWorld TV welcomes you to Southwestern California, home to San Diego, and a bunch of real fine things to do and places to see. If you are planning a trip there – for whatever reason – you are in for a real treat. One of the many reasons for that is the unbelievably good weather ALL the time! Word has it that, not so very long ago, a well known TV weatherman at a San Diego station had passed away, and the station could not find a replacement so they kept showing reruns of the guy with the same “weather today is perfect and tomorrow’s prediction is for more of the same”. One viewer noticed he had on the same shirt and tie day after day and called in. That was in the second week. By the way, he was right about the weather all that time. The temperature averages a comfy 70 degrees year round. And it is almost always sunny. Cool!
LUCKY LINDY
A lot of people fly into San Diego every day, but on may 9, 1927, one very distinguished American was flying out. Charles Lindbergh left on his historic flight from San Diego, headed for New York, and it was from there that he flew non-stop to Paris. It was the first non-stop flight across the Atlantic, and he did it all by himself.
SWIM WITH THE SEALS
Along the southwestern coast of California, on the coast of LaJolla, you’ll find some interesting people sunbathing…wait, those aren’t people at all, they’re seals, that have sort of adopted this prime beach property as their own. Not to worry, there's plenty of great beach nearby, and you and the kids can get a close - but not too close - photo with these lovable sea creatures..
BALBOA PARK
If you’re in the area, you MUST check out Balboa Park. It is THE nation’s largest urban cultural park, and it is home to 15 major museums, beautiful, (and that deserves a repeat, BEAUTIFUL) gardens and the always amazing San Diego Zoo. There are cultural events and exhibitions going on all the time. One day of the fun and festivities this park has to offer, and you will never want to leave. Truth is, if you never did leave, you'd never run out of fun things to see and do.
